And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the LORD comes with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

The above is Jude 1:14 & 15, and is the LORD, through Jude telling of His coming this day and it happening just as he said it would. In the previous post, we saw the Book of Enoch speaking of the son of man coming and the LORD revealing to and through him hidden secrets. They are described in terms often used here, as the treasures of heaven the LORD releases from His storehouse: the treasure house also described as the clouds of heaven.

The Book of Enoch isn’t in the Bible but is referenced, as in the title verses. Its origin can only be dated by its oldest known fragment found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. Some portions can be dated to 200 – 300 BC, and others to 100 BC. This dating shows the youngest the book could be. As we know, many of the rolls (scrolls) found there were copies of other (many Biblical) Books that have a known earlier origin.

Today, the LORD started with revealing the Book of Enoch’s exclusion, and its now reemergence, written of in (divinely engineered into) His word. This is His proving Himself and the son of man He said he would send: the good shepherd sent to rescue the sheep from wolves, “to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

The name Enoch is said to mean dedicated (as in dedicating a house). It’s from the five times used Hebrew word chanak, meaning “to narrow.” In Genesis 5:21 we are told he begat Methuselah, who with Enoch also appears in the blood-line of Christ recorded in Luke 3:37. The name Methuselah is from the words math (meaning – {few} men), and the seven times used word shelach, meaning, “a missile of attack, i.e. spear; also (figuratively) a shoot of growth; i.e. branch:–dart, plant, X put off, sword, weapon.”

The word shelach is used twice in Job, both spoken by Elihu (He is God) in telling of the “sword” by which men perish when they don’t hear and heed the word of God.

Job 33
14 For God speaks once, yea twice, yet man perceives it not.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumbering upon the bed;
16 Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,
17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
18 He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword [shelach].
19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
20 So that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty meat.
21 His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.
22 Yea, his soul draws near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show unto man his uprightness:
24 Then he is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:
26 He shall pray unto God, and he will be favorable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
27 He looks upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
29 Lo, all these things works God oftentimes with man,
30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light [understanding] of the living.

Job 36
2 Suffer me a little, and I will show you that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.
3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with you.
5 Behold, God is mighty, and despises not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
6 He preserves not the life of the wicked: but gives right to the poor.
7 He withdraws not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he does establish them forever, and they are exalted.
8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be held in cords of affliction;
9 Then he shows them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
10 He opens also their ear to discipline, and commands that they return from iniquity.
11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword [shelach], and they shall die without knowledge.
13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he binds them.
14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
15 He delivers the poor in his affliction, and opens their ears in oppression.
16 Even so would he have removed you out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on your table should be full of fatness.
17 But you have fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on you.
18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take you away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver you.
19 Will he esteem your riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this have you chosen rather than affliction.
22 Behold, God exalts by his power: who teaches like him?

To begin, the “straitness” spoken of in verse 16 above is referring the narrow way (chanak) the few (math) who enter the kingdom, per the previous post, though gates spoken of by Enoch.

Matthew 7
13 Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

The strait way is the one that agrees with the LORD, narrowed by the false prophets’ misleading. The broad way is the way all are going, following the creations of men who’ve led the world into hell.

Amos 3
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he has taken nothing?
5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him [where no trap has been set]? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD has not done it?
7 Surely the LORD God will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets.

The word “agreed” is ya’ad, meaning “to fix upon (by agreement or appointment); by implication, to meet (at a stated time), to summon (to trial), to direct (in a certain quarter or position), to engage (for marriage).” As we’ve seen in previous posts, it (ya’ad) is speaking of an appointment, and only by agreeing on the time and place can two meet together.

Enoch walked with God and they agreed on this time and place of his return, after “he was not; for God took him.”

Hebrews 11
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Now is the “appointed time.” The “set” time is now.

Ezekiel
14 You therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite your hands together. and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which enters into their privy chambers.
15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates [that hold humanity in hell], that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.
16 Go you one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever your face is set [ya’ad].

Jeremiah 49
14 I have heard a rumor from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather you together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
15 For, lo, I will make you small among the heathen, and despised among men.
16 Your terribleness has deceived you, and the pride of your heart, O you that dwells in the clefts of the rock, that hold the height of the hill: though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from thence, says the LORD.
17 Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.
18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities thereof, says the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her [when He rises up the enemies flee from His sheep]: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint [ya’ad] me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Edom [the enemies, as wolves mixed among the sheep]; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman [the place of the so-called wise of the world – where the LORD appears with true wisdom showing them foolish]: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.

In a pattern, Enoch’s reappearing is foretold in Ezra 6, when the book (roll – mgillah) is found in the treasure house of Babylon (the confusion of men who are the deceivers of the word). There we read of the “decree” of Darius, to search there for the roll. What is found is the decree of his forefather Cyrus. (Both these kings are descendants of Queen Esther). The word “decree is from t’em, a word used in Daniel 4:6, there referring to what only one man, Daniel, was able to interpret.

Daniel 4
6 Therefore made I a decree [t’em] to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
7 Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans [those who deceive to manipulate and control], and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar [“LORD of the straitened’s treasure”], according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,
9 O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no secret troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
10 Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.
11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
12 The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down [nchath] from heaven;
14 He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:
15 Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
16 Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will, and sets up over it the basest of men.
18 This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now you, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but you are able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in you.
19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spoke, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble you. Belteshazzar answered and said, My LORD, the dream be to them that hate you, and the interpretation thereof to your enemies.
20 The tree that you saw, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
21 Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:
22 It is you, O king, that are grown and become strong: for your greatness is grown, and reaches unto heaven, and your dominion to the end of the earth.
23 And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down [nachath] from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which is come upon my LORD the king:
25 That they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will.
26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; your kingdom shall be sure unto you, after that you shall have known that the heavens do rule.
27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of your tranquility.
28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar [the false prophets whose lies rule over the world and cause the desolation of God’s people].
29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
30 The king spoke, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?
31 While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from you.
32 And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will.
33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.
34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored him that lives forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What do you?
36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honor and brightness returned unto me; and my counselors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

The word nchath above (meaning “to descend; causatively, to bring away, deposit, depose”) is only used six times. Daniel tells us it “comes” with the watchers, who are often spoken of in the Book of Enoch. They are those that have the word of God – where it is held. Above it is the word of God coming in the holy one, who is there patterned in Daniel revealing the secreted meaning and giving understanding. This removal of wisdom from the wise is patterned in the king of Babylon, as a tree cut off, until his understanding returned. In Ezra, this understanding returns as the roll is found “laid up” in Babylon (confusion).

Ezra 6
1 Then Darius the king made a decree [t’em], and search was made in the house of the rolls [cpher – book], where the treasures were laid up [nchath] in Babylon [in confusion].
2 And there was found at Achmetha [achar math – after by the {straitened} few], in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll [mgillah], and therein was a record thus written:
3 In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be built, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;
4 With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king’s house:
5 And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place [nchath] them in the house of God.
6 Now therefore, Tatnai [this gift – the treasures of heaven], governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai [from the star of splendor], and your companions the Apharsachites [who will rightly divide the word the deceivers brought to confusion], which are beyond the river, be you far from thence:
7 Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.
8 Moreover I make a decree what you shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered.
9 And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:
10 That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savors unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.
11 Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.
12 And the God that has caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.
13 Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily.

The above speaking of building the house is again referring us back to Enoch, and the dedication of the house (chanak).

2 Chronicles 6
34 If your people go out to war against their enemies by the way that you shall send them, and they pray unto you toward this city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name;
35 Then hear you from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
36 If they sin against you, (for there is no man which sins not,) and you be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;
37 Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto you in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;
38 If they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which you gave unto their fathers, and toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name:
39 Then hear you from the heavens, even from your dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive your people which have sinned against you.
40 Now, my God, let, I beseech you, your eyes be open, and let your ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
41 Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into your resting place, you, and the ark of your strength: let your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let your saints rejoice in goodness.
42 O LORD God, turn not away the face of your anointed: remember the mercies of David your servant.

2 Chronicles 7
1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’s house.
3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endures forever.
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated [chanak] the house of God.

Matthew 13
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear.
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man has found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Revelation 21
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

From the Book of Enoch:

81.1 And he said to me: “O Enoch, look at the book of the Tablets of Heaven, and read what is written upon them, and note every individual fact.”
81.2 And I looked at everything in the Tablets of Heaven, and I read everything which was written, and I noted everything. And I read the book, and everything that was written in it, all the deeds of men, and all who will be born of flesh, on the Earth, for all the generations of eternity.
81.3 And then I immediately blessed the LORD, the Eternal King of Glory, in that He has made all the works of the world, and I praised the LORD because of His patience, and I blessed Him on account of the sons of Adam.
81.4 And, at that time, I said: “Blessed is the man who dies righteous and good, concerning whom no book of iniquity has been written, and against whom no guilt has been found.”
81.5 And these three Holy ones brought me, and set me on the earth, in front of the door of my house, and said to me: “Tell everything to your son Methuselah, and show all your children that no flesh is righteous, before the LORD, for He created them.
81.6 For one year, we will leave you with your children, until you have regained your strength, so that you may teach your children, and write these things down for them, and testify to all your children. And, in the second year, we will take you from amongst them.
81.7 Let your heart be strong, for the good will proclaim righteousness to the good, the righteous will rejoice with the righteous, and they will wish each other well.
81.8 But the sinner will die with the sinner, and the apostate will sink with the apostate.
81.9 And those who practice righteousness will die, because of the deeds of men, and will be gathered in, because of the deeds of the impious.”
81.10 And, in those days, they finished speaking to me, and I went to my family as I blessed the LORD of Ages.

82.1 And now, my son Methuselah, all these things I recount to you, and write down for you. I have revealed everything to you, and have given you books about all these things. Keep, my son Methuselah, the books from the hand of your father, so that you may pass them on to the generations of eternity.
82.2 I have given wisdom to you, and to your children, and to those who will be your children, so that they may give it to their children, for all the generations, forever, this wisdom that is beyond their thoughts.
82.3 And those who understand it will not sleep, but will incline their ears, so that they may learn this wisdom, and it will be better for those who eat from it than good food.
83.1 And now, my son Methuselah, I will show you all the visions that I saw, recounting them before you.
83.2 Two visions I saw, before I took a wife, and neither one was like the other. For the first time, when I learnt the art of writing, and for the second time, before I took your mother. I saw a terrible vision; and concerning this I made supplication to the LORD.
83.3 I had lain down in the house of my grandfather, Malalel, when I saw in a vision how Heaven was thrown down, and removed, and it fell upon the Earth.
83.4 And when it fell upon the Earth, I saw how the Earth was swallowed up in a great abyss, and mountains were suspended on mountains, and hills sank down upon hills, and tall trees were torn up by their roots, and were thrown down, and sank into the abyss.
83.5 And then speech fell into my mouth, and I raised my voice to cry out, and said: “The Earth is destroyed!”
83.6 And my grandfather, Malalel, roused me, since I lay near him, and said to me: “Why did you cry out so, my son, and why do you moan so?”
83.7 And I recounted to him the whole vision, which I had seen, and he said to me: “A terrible thing you have seen, my son! Your dream vision concerns the secrets of all the sin of the Earth; it is about to sink into the abyss and be utterly destroyed.
83.8 And now, my son, rise and make supplication to the LORD of Glory, for you are faithful, so that a remnant may be left on the Earth, and that He may not wipe out the whole Earth.
83.9 My son, from Heaven all this will come upon the Earth, and upon the Earth there will be great destruction.”
83.10 And then I rose, and prayed, and made supplication, and wrote my prayer down, for the generations of eternity, and I will show everything to you, my son Methuselah.
83.11 And, when I went out below, and saw the sky, and the Sun rising in the east, and the Moon setting in the west, and some stars, and the whole Earth, and everything as He knew it at the beginning [without form and void]. Then I blessed the LORD of Judgement, and ascribed Majesty to Him, for He makes the Sun come out from the windows of the east, so that it ascends and rises on the face of Heaven, and sets out and goes in the path which has been shown to it.

84.1 And I raised my hands in righteousness and I blessed the Holy and Great One. And I spoke with the breath of my mouth, and with the tongue of flesh, which God has made for men born of flesh, so that they might speak with it; and He has given them breath, and a tongue, and a mouth, so that they might speak with them.
84.2 “Blessed are You, O LORD King, and Great and Powerful in Your Majesty, LORD of the whole Creation of Heaven, King of Kings, and God of the whole World! And Your Kingly Authority, and Your Sovereignty, and Your Majesty, will last forever, and forever and ever, and Your Power, for all generations. And all the Heavens are Your Throne, forever, and the whole Earth Your footstool, forever, and forever and ever.
