The Greek word rendered “changed,” above in Hebrews 7:12, is the six times used word metatithemi, meaning “from 3326 and 5087; to transfer, i.e. (literally) transport, (by implication) exchange, (reflexively) change sides, or (figuratively) pervert.” It’s from the words meta, meaning amid (in the process of) what it’s prefixed to: tithemi, meaning a place (in a passive state).

Speaking of the LORD’s transfiguration on the mountain, the following, ending with Romans 12, is from the post of 3 October 2021:
Friends, it’s time to accept the moment, “Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light [understanding].”

The word rendered “transfigured,” in Matthew 17:2, is the four times used Greek word metamorphoo, “from 3326 [meta] and 3445 [morphoo]; to transform (literally or figuratively, “metamorphose”).”

The definitions from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
Meta: showing or suggesting an explicit awareness of itself or oneself as a member of its category: cleverly self-referential.
Morph: to change the form or character of.

It is speaking of a change that comes when, by understanding, we accept who we are.

The word (metamorphoo) appears additionally in Mark speaking of the same event as in Matthew, and later, giving meaning, in Romans 12:2 and 2 Corinthians 3:18. Before reading these latter mentioned occurrences, we must understand, this is the mystery of the change Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 15:51 thru 55 what Daniel describes in Daniel 12:2 & 3. Both are speaking of when the sleeping awaken, and we all realize this is the resurrecting of the dead, meaning we have all lived before, died, and are here now raised. Paul, in 2 Corinthians 3:16, says this change occurs when we turn to the LORD (hear His voice), and the vail is removed, and we see who is hidden in our flesh.

1 Corinthians 15
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit [by this word, bringing the dead to life].
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the LORD from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Daniel 12
1 And at that time shall Michael [who is like God] stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of your people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament [from where the waters are rightly divided, and it’s called heaven, from where God speaks with full understanding]; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.
4 But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

2 Corinthians 3
12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remains the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it [the words of Moses] shall turn to the LORD, the vail [hiding the LORD’s spirit in the flesh] shall be taken away.
17 Now the LORD is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the LORD [in us], are changed [metamorphoo – aware of the immortal self, and put on immortality] into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.

2 Corinthians 4
1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the LORD; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light [understanding] of the knowledge [the awakening knowledge spoken of in Daniel 12:4 above] of the glory of God in the face [presence] of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Ephesians 5
8 For you were sometimes darkness [ignorant], but now are you light [have been given understanding] in the LORD: walk as children of light [of understanding]:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the LORD.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness [of the ignorant], but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever does make manifest is light.

1 Thessalonians 5
1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly [akribos] that the day of the LORD so comes as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our LORD Jesus Christ,

Romans 12
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed [metamorphoo – put on immortality] by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4 For as we have many members in ONE BODY, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are ONE BODY in Christ, and every one members one of another.

In the LORD’s transfiguration (metamorphoo), He is realized to be the law and the prophets (the Word of God) made flesh, which is itself the Father (Jehovah) in Him, by His word and works witnessing to Himself (in the son, “in who He is well pleased”).

The title quote tells of the watershed event which changes the law and the prophets, translating them into their subsequent evolutionary understanding [the new creation].

This understanding comes as the light of a new day, into a darkened world: ruin upon which the new is built (the earth become without from, and void, in confusing and its resulting emptiness, when ignorance covers the face of the deep).

In the previous post we discussed the “translation” (from the three times used word metathesis) occurring in Enoch’s “translation” (metatithemi), as the pattern of when God’s people awaken to immortality in His presence. It occurs initially in the first-born from the dead; then in the elect remnant; and finally, in the many millions who come out of tribulation: the agitation of ignorance of the time.

The following, ending with Matthew 24, is from that post:
Friends, this is what has always been called “the second coming,” the LORD unknown coming as a thief in the night: ignorance of Him that keeps the world under the shadow of imminent death. Church, when you turn from your idols: the (whoredom with) men who’ve put themselves in God’s place, accept and declare this, the world will hear.

Then will be brought to pass the saying, “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

Revelation 7
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: “and [LORD] God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”

Hebrews 11
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

This faith is described in the verse before, which says, by it (believing God is God, and His reward is life), Enoch was translated, through washing at the fountain of living waters, and did not see death. “5 By faith Enoch was translated [matatithemi] that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated [metatithemi] him: for before his translation [metathesis] he had this testimony, that he [[WELL]] pleased God.”

This same (washing and) translation is what John alludes to, in Revelation 7:17 above, as He quote Isaiah 25:8, “and [LORD] God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” As we well know, Isaiah precedes this phrase saying it’s when He removes the covering spread over all nations, and “He shall swallow up death in victory.”

Paul, quoting this latter portion in 1 Corinthians 15:54, tell us when this change (translation) occurs: when the corruption covering the world is replaced with uncorrupted truth. He, in earlier verses, says this is done by the LORD (as author and finisher of our faith), the firstborn from the dead, who he calls the “second Adam,” who is the quickening Spirit bringing us from death to life (immortality), as He did Enoch.

Friends, I tell you the truth, this world is now in the “tribulation,” and if it were not for the sake of His elect remnant, no flesh would survive.

Matthew 24
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning [understanding] comes out of the east, and shineth even unto the west [as light shining on all who come out of the corrupt houses, into the light]; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 For wheresoever the carcass is [the dead church], there will the eagles be gathered together [to renew her strength].

The word metathesis is said to be from the word metatithemi, an affinity which is at its best inaccurate. In the context of rightly dividing of truth and delusion (the dialectic), thesis means “a dissertation embodying results of original research and especially substantiating a specific view.”

In this light, and speaking of the priesthood in which priests are ordained to adhere to existing dogma, even when erroneous:

Isaiah 28
5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sits in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine [shmuw’ah – this report: thesis]? them that are weaned from the milk, and [have now] drawn from the breasts [of the ancient of days].
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

This is the mission for which Timothy (I Am) is “set at liberty:” to present the truth and separate it from the creations (fiction and outright lies) of men who claim it is truth.

Hebrews 7
11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec (the son, outside the current corrupt orders, here as Timothy], and not be called after the order of Aaron?
12 For the priesthood being changed [metatithemi], there is made of necessity a change [metathesis – the translation, separating its true spirit from the erroneous] also of the law.
13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertains to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
14 For it is evident that our LORD sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there arises another priest (I Am),
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 For he testifies, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
18 For there is truly a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw near unto God.
20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:
21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The LORD swore [in Psalms 110:4] and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament [which makes men perfect by the change].
23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
24 But this man, because he continues ever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them [and is sent {Isaiah 6:8} as a messenger to make the will of God known].
26 For such a high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
27 Who needs not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
28 For the law makes men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, makes the Son, who is consecrated [complete – perfected in the presence of the Father in him] for evermore.

Jude, in Jude 1:14, tells of this thesis, by the LORD at His coming, against those who have spotted the priest’s garment with their errors and speak against truth and good judgment.

Jude 1
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withers, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea [proud men whose words agitate the masses], foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the LORD comes with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince [by thesis] all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaks great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage [of their positions of power].
17 But, beloved, remember you the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our LORD Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20 But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our LORD Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling [harpazo] them out of the fire [of this tribulation]; hating even the garment spotted [see verse12 above] by the flesh [false prophets, from where we are pulled into His clear air].
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

The final use of the word metathesis is in Hebrews 12:27, where it’s rendered “removed,” telling of things made (the creations, the fiction and outright lies of men) that are shaken from heaven and earth. As we know, this shaking comes from the voice of the son who is speaking from heaven: the place of full (complete: perfect and perfecting) understanding.

Hebrews 12
22 But you are come unto mount Zion [the throne of God’s rule], and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel.
25 See that you refuse not him that speaks. For if they escaped not who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from heaven [the place of full understanding]:
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he has promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifies the removing [metathesis – the change by this word from the mouth of God] of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 For our God is a consuming fire.

As we’ve seen, the one here speaking is the son described in Hebrews 1 & 2.

Hebrews 1
1 God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners [in many seeming unconnected parts] spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things [to bring these parts in one message of Salvation], by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, You are my Son, this day have I begotten you? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he brings in the first-begotten into the world, he says, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he says, Who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he says, Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.

Hebrews 2
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels [those sent with messages they may not have fully understood] was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the LORD, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

The passage goes on to say, this world we’ve inherited in resurrection isn’t under the “subjection of angels” (who are only messengers) but under the son resurrected in the flesh. The word “subjection” is from the Greek word hupotasso, which appears once in verse 5 and three times in verse 8, meaning “to subordinate; reflexively, to obey,” as describes in the word tasso, meaning “to arrange in an orderly manner, i.e. assign or dispose (to a certain position or lot).”

The passage is speaking of the son as the LORD of hosts, King of kings and LORD of lords, the commander of the army [the angels] of heaven.

Hebrews 2
5 For unto the angels has he not put in subjection [hupotasso] the world to come, whereof we speak.
6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that you are mindful of him? or the son of man that you visit him?
7 You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, and did set him over the works of your hands:
8 You have put all things in subjection under [hupotasso] his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under [hupotasso] him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under [hupotasso] him.
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 For both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
