The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The Hebrew word above rendered “perfect” is tamiym, meaning “entire (literally, figuratively or morally); also (as noun) integrity, truth:–without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely (-ity), sound, without spot, undefiled, upright(-ly), whole.”
The word “converting” is shuwb, here speaking of the return to the state, not the time, before the fall, when man walked in agreement with God and followed Him only. Its meaning, from the Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary, is: “to turn back (hence, away) transitively or intransitively, literally or figuratively (not necessarily with the idea of return to the starting point); generally to retreat; often adverbial, again.”
In the above context, we can properly understand the subject is “making wise [chakam] the simple [pthiy],” converting them by the perfect and sure word of God.
Proverbs 19
20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that you may be wise in [this] your latter end.
21 There are many devices [mashachabah – as when the evil thoughts of men were great in the earth, which brought the flood in the days of Noah] in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
25 Smite a scorner, and the simple [pthiy] will beware: and reprove one that has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
The title is Psalms 19:7, which begins by telling us this work of the LORD is in the firmament and is His glory declared in the heavens.
The depth in this statement, found in the understanding He’s given us, is that the firmament (which God called heaven: full understanding), from the word raqiya’, meaning an expanse, tells of when and how the LORD separated the waters above from the waters below (as in Genesis 1:6 thru 8): meaning His word from the words of men that corrupt and darken its depth.
In the title, David, who tells us in 2 Samuel 23:2, the Spirit of the LORD spoke by Him, and His word was his tongue, uses the word “heavens” to tell us this handiwork of God, ends the old corrupt understanding (heaven) and creates the new (heaven).
The word raqiya’ is from the eleven times used word raqa’, meaning “to pound the earth (as a sign of passion); by analogy to expand (by hammering); by implication, to overlay (with thin sheets of metal).”
The idea of men’s corruption is seen when raqa’ is used, in Isaiah 40:19 to tell of the makers of idols “spreading them over” with gold. Isaiah then uses the word two other times, in Isaiah 42:5, rendered “spread forth” in telling of the LORD’s work in the heaven and earth; and in Isaiah 44:24 where the LORD says its Him alone, who is our Redeemer, who has done these things.
Isaiah 40
5 And the glory [in the heavens, ending the old and creating the new] of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass [the corrupt understanding of men] withers, the flower [the glory of men] fades: because the spirit of the LORD blows [moves unknown] upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades: but the word of our God shall stand forever [to bring light into the darkness when He wills].
9 O Zion, that brings good tidings, get you up into the high mountain [when the glory of the LORD is revealed]; O Jerusalem, that bring good tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, “Behold [see] your God!”
10 Behold, the LORD God will come with a strong hand, and his arm [revealed] shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work [in the firmament, separating His word from the corruption of men who’ve polluted it] before him [paniym – revealed by His presence].
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm [into ONE BODY], and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
12 Who has measured the waters [above and below] in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven [full understanding] with the span, and comprehended the dust [the ruin and corruption] of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains [the high places of the earth] in scales, and the hills in a balance [making the high places small]?
13 Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counselor has taught him?
14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?
15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles [the dry place of the earth, among the people at large, that are without this word of God] as a very little thing.
16 And Lebanon [the high places where purity should be seen] is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
18 To whom then will you liken God? or what likeness will you compare unto him?
19 The workman melts a graven image [an idol they put in God’s place], and the goldsmith spread it over [raqa’ – hiding what is below] with gold, and casts silver chains [with which they hold men in darkness: ignorance].
20 He that is so impoverished [lacking these treasures of God] that he has no oblation chooses a tree [the dead-wood overlayed with gold] that will not rot; he seeks unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image [an abomination], that shall not be moved [from the place of the holy].
21 Have you not known? have you not heard? has it not been told you from the beginning? have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 It is he that sits upon the circle [circuit – the ends and beginnings] of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers [whose glory fades away as they destroy all flesh/grass]; that stretch out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:
23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he makes the judges of the earth as vanity.
24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
25 To whom then will you liken me, or shall I be equal? says the Holy One.

Isaiah 42
1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delight; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles [those who don’t know me, even My sleeping people who think they do, while they worship idols men put in My place and called by My name].
2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench [speaking of the wick of a lamp, whose light is almost completely extinguished, which the LORD trims so it again shines brightly]: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles [the place without this word of God] shall wait for his law.
5 Thus says God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth [raqa’ – covers with His understanding] the earth, and that which comes out of it; he that gives breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 I the LORD have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light [understanding] of the Gentiles [who don’t know Me];
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness [ignorance] out of the prison house.
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images [men put in My place].
9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, you that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar [darkness – ignorance] does inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
12 Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman [to bring forth God’s children]; I will destroy and devour at once.
15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs [their glory]; and I will make the rivers islands [their words that flow to the sea; the people at large], and I will dry up the pools [the place where their corrupt words are aggregated].
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed [they shall be disappointed when they don’t reach the end their false prophets told them they would], that trust in graven images [false gods they follow, who’ve put themselves in My place], that say to the molten images, You are our gods.
18 Hear, you deaf; and look, you blind, that you may see.
19 Who is blind, but my servant [who I now awaken to My presence]? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD’s servant?
20 Seeing many things, but you observe not; opening the ears, but he heareth not [who is blind and deft to those, the false gods, who put themselves in God’s place].
21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law [the word of God], and make it honorable.
22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses [holding them down in ignorance, death, and hell]: they are for a prey, and none delivers; for a spoil, and none says, Restore [take these false gods they follow out of the way {mesos}, and restore understanding].
23 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?
24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law [His word].
25 Therefore he has poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it has set him on fire round about, yet he knew not [because they are sleeping in ignorance: dead in hell]; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
Isaiah 44
1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
2 Thus says the LORD that made you, and formed you from the womb, which will help you; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and you, Jesurun [God’s people who prosper when they follow only Him], whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon your seed, and my blessing upon your offspring:
4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.
5 One shall say, I am the LORD’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
6 Thus says the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them show unto them.
8 Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not I told you from that time, and have declared it? you are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
9 They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
10 Who has formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?
11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.
12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioned it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength fails: he drinks no water, and is faint.
13 The carpenter stretches out his rule; he marks it out with a line; he fits it with planes, and he marks it out with the compass, and makes it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
14 He hews him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengthens for himself among the trees of the forest: he plant an ash, and the rain does nourish it.
15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindles it, and bakes bread; yea, he makes a god, and worships it; he makes it a graven image, and falls down thereto.
16 He burns part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eats flesh; he roasts a roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warms himself, and says, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:
17 And the residue thereof he makes a god, even his graven image: he falls down unto it, and worships it, and prays unto it, and says, Deliver me; for you are my god.
18 They have not known nor understood: for he has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
19 And none considers in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree [even if it is covered in gold: the things in which men mistakenly put their trust]?
20 He feeds on ashes: a deceived heart has turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for you are my servant: I have formed you; you are my servant: O Israel, you shall not be forgotten of me.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed you.
23 Sing, O you heavens; for the LORD has done it: shout, you lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, you mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
24 Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, and he that formed you from the womb, I am the LORD that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad [raqa’ – covers with understanding] the earth by myself;
25 That frustrates the tokens of the liars, and makes diviners mad; that turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;
26 That confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers; that says to Jerusalem, You shall be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, You shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:
27 That says to the deep [the understanding of men], Be dry, and I will dry up your rivers [your words that flow to My people]:
28 That says of Cyrus [the LORD of the furnace], He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, You shall be built; and to the temple [God’s people in whom He dwells], Your foundation shall be laid.
As we know, the furnace is the time of terror, darkness, and the deep sleep of God’s people in it, which began when God made His covenant with Abram and Isaac was born. As we also know, this is the same furnace in which Daniel saw the son of God walking, and the time of sleep as a time, a times, and a (rightly) dividing of time, which he describes in chapter 12 showing it ends now in these last days when the resurrection occurs.
Before posting these chapters again, here is the formula revealed in these times.
The time of the deep sleep, the walk in the furnace, ends when, as God promised, Abraham’s seed has become a great multitude. When God, in Genesis 15, tells this to Abraham, it is the year 1897 BC, and Isaac is born the following year.
In Daniel 12, we are told the end comes after a time, a times, and a half, when the power of God’s holy people is scattered. The word “half” is the Hebrew word chetsiy, meaning “the half or middle:–half, middle, mid(-night), midst, part, two parts.” It’s from the word chatsah, meaning “to cut or split in two; to halve:–divide, X live out half, reach to the midst, participle.”
These words are telling of rightly dividing (understanding) the time Daniel is told the book is sealed and opened, both by the two men seen on the two sides of the river. The one he sees upon the waters of the river is the word of God made flesh, the one like the son of God, always here walking in the fires of the furnace with us. Abram, in Genesis 15, sees this man as a burning lamp, after the sun went down (the book sealed) and darkness (ignorance) came, and the burning lamp passed (the son in who understanding has always been the light) between the two cut pieces of the sacrifice.
Daniel then, in Daniel 12:11 & 12, tells of the time, and the times, of this opening of the sealed book. He gives two times, 1290 days (years) and 1335 day (years), of the latter, saying blessed are those who come to it. The formula is this: the time is 1290 years, followed by a times (both these numbers) 1290 + 1335, all equaling 3915 years passing. We know it began at Isaac’s birth, 1896 BC, which when removed from 3915 years leaves 2019, the year the LORD showed me this sealed treasure. (The math doesn’t lie, and all the above is true. Receive and understand the time we are living in is the time the angel told Daniel of, when we stand in our lot at the end of days).
1 Thessalonians 4
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the LORD, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the LORD shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the LORD himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
As we’ve seen, this “air” wherein we meet the LORD, is from the seven times used Greek word aer, meaning “(to breathe unconsciously, i.e. respire; by analogy, to blow); “air” (as naturally circumambient):–air”. As seen here, the word tells of the air becoming clear, after the LORD has given understanding in the cloud (where the elements of understanding are held when they leave the earth).
John, using the word in Revelation 9:2 and 16:17, tells us how the air became unclear, where we couldn’t see and understand. He says it’s from the same smoke Abram saw in the furnace before the burning lamp passed. The light (understand) of the lamp is what ends the ignorance that caused the sleep and the unclarity.
Revelation 9
2 And he opened the bottomless pit [the endless fall away from God – apostasy]; and there arose a smoke [so no man could see clearly] out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun [the church] and the air [aer – clarity of sight] were darkened [became ignorant] by reason of the smoke of the pit.
3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth [to devour]: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power [to rot men from the inside, in their mind, causing death: sleep].
Revelation 16
17 And the seventh angel [God’s finisher – the archangel] poured out his vial into the air [aer – to clear it of the smoke]; and there came a great voice [the shout of the archangel] out of the temple of heaven [God’s people with full understanding], from the throne, saying, “It is done.”
18 And there were voices [of understanding], and thunders [the sound of the light – understanding heard], and lightning [understand as light from the cloud]; and there was a great earthquake [the voices shaking the earth, so the creations of the wicked are shaken from it], such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon [the confusion that has ruled over the world causing its desolation] came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath [the word of God, the sword of His truth, destroying the evil works of wicked and misleading men].
20 And every island fled away [and these waters, this word of God was heard everywhere], and the mountains [the wicked high place of the old earth] were not found.
21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven [the word of God reserved, frozen there to be released unto fire in this time of war], every stone [from where this word of God flows] about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed [vilified and demonized] God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
Daniel 12
1 And at that time shall Michael [who is like, in the likeness of, God] stand up, the great prince which stand for the children of your people: and there shall be a time of trouble [tsarah – tribulation], such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.
4 But you, O Daniel [the judgment of God], shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro [diligently seeking the LORD], and knowledge shall be increased.
5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river [as the flesh of one divided in two], and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders [of these things wondered at and not known]?
7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swore by him that lives forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half [chetsiy – the right dividing of the time between]; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
8 And I heard, but I understood not [as none have until now, as God said it would be and it has been]: then said I, O my LORD, what shall be the end of these things?
9 And he said, Go your way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set-up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he that waits [for the LORD to open], and come to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
13 But go you your way till the end be: for you shall rest, and stand in your lot at the end of the days.
Genesis 15
5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if you be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall your seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
7 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought you out of Ur [out of the flame {of the furnace}] of the Chaldees [those who used the word to manipulate and control and oppress], to give you this land to inherit it.
8 And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
9 And he said unto him, Take me a heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away.
12 And when the sun [when understanding] was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness [ignorance] fell upon him.
13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that your seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred [four thousand] years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15 And you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.
16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites [the sayers – those speaking against God and exalting their words above His] is not yet full.
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun [the light in the church] went down, and it was dark [and ignorance covered the earth], behold a smoking furnace [and no man saw clearly], and a burning lamp [Christ – God’s anointed] that passed between those pieces.
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto your seed have I given this land [the USA].
Isaiah 62
1 For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burns.
2 And the Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory: and you shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
3 You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4 You shall no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: but you shall be called Hephzibah [the LORD’s delight], and your land Beulah [the LORD’s dominion]: for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married.
5 For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you: and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.
6 I have set watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: you that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,
7 And give him no rest, till he establishes, and till he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8 The LORD has sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give your corn to be meat for your enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink your wine, for that which you have labored:
9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.
10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare you the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.
11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say you to the daughter of Zion, Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and you shall be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
Isaiah 63
1 Who is this [a man of war] that comes from Edom [from the enemies mixed among us], with dyed garments from Bozrah [from the sheepfold]? this that is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength? [Daniel 3: 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.] I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
2 Wherefore are you red in your apparel, and your garments like him that treads in the wine fat?
3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
6 And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
7 I will mention the loving-kindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses.
8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Savior.
9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?
12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
13 That led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?
14 As a beast goes down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so did you lead your people, to make yourself a glorious name.
15 Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory: where is your zeal and your strength, the sounding of your bowels and of your mercies toward me? are they restrained?
16 Doubtless you are our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: you, O LORD, are our father, our redeemer; your name is from everlasting.
17 O LORD, why have you made us to err from your ways, and hardened our heart from your fear? Return for your servants’ sake, the tribes of your inheritance.
18 The people of your holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down your sanctuary.
19 We are yours: you never barest rule over them; they were not called by your name.
Psalms 19
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handy-work.
2 Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is your servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his [own] errors? cleanse you me from secret faults.
13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
